Going with my recent theme of {Dogs}, I thought I would introduce you to Duke. Yes, I should be showing you our endless images of the incredible fall colors that are exploding in our back yard at this very moment. But, how could I pass up this face?

Duke is officially the newest family member of Ford Family Photography and we had a ball with him. His parents, Kate and Lawrence, are newlyweds and we had the amazing opportunity to photograph their wedding this year at the Gold Hill Vineyard in Coloma. It was absolutely perfect and we were thrilled they came right back for more fun.

I love sharing little stories and experiences such as this. We strive to show how important each and every one of our customers are to us from the moment they come through our doors. The best example we have is when our guests return and bring along their growing family. It truly means the world to us and we are honored to be apart of such a responsibility to capture those fleeting memories.

This little English Bulldog had us laughing out loud for hours after his session. Since our studio is on our 10 acres, we are so fortunate to be able to entertain families with pets and allow them to run around and enjoy themselves. Duke didn’t hesitate for a moment to take full advantage of running and playing. There wasn’t a doubt in our minds that he was going to sleep very well that night.

Bring your “Entire” family up for fun, laughs, and oh yeah, pictures. Tell us about your pet and your favorite memories. We can’t wait to hear from you.
Don’t forget the opportunity to have a photo taken with Santa on November 14th as a benefit for a local animal rescue organization. We have a blast with the variety of pets that come through the doors and would love to see you there.

We finally took a little break with the boys and headed to Bishop’s Pumpkin Farm in Weatland, CA. Usually, we make the mistake of waiting until the week before Halloween to grab our perfect collection of misfit pumpkins. But this year, we wanted to take advantage of a warm autumn day. It actually heated up to 80 degrees.
Yes, I did mention “misfit” pumpkins. The boys have taken to our love of unique and colorful combinations. Sammy even stuck to his promise of picking out a white pumpkin and another having just yellow and green. Both boys actually went on a hunt for a white pumpkin in the vast sea of orange and green. It was perfect.

Even though pumpkins are always our favorite adventure and highlight since it includes a cool wagon ride, there are so many other activities and attractions to partake in at this farm that continues to grow and expand every year. Zach and Sam always anxiously wait their turn for the train ride and to play on the old Southern Pacific caboose. But this year, they were really smitten with the petting zoo. Both boys found a couple pygmy goats they were able to shower love and affection over.

We hope everyone is taking the time to start their own family traditions. This is the perfect time of the year to enjoy the changes of the seasons and build lasting memories. Our boys remind us all the time how quickly time passes. But most of all, they remind us that these memories are favorites of theirs too.
Bring your favorite pumpkin with you when you head out to our studio this season. We love seeing the enjoyment and color they can add to your portrait experience.

September 27, 2009 at 1:53 PM (Engagements)

From San Francisco to the Rice Fields of Maxwell, CA, our Engagement Sessions are giving us something to write about.

Amanda and Brian wanted to bring a personal touch to their engagement photos by including a Combine Harvester, John Deere of course, for harvesting the rice fields. The excitement came when we found out that this would be “During” the actual “Rice Harvesting” of the fields. I don’t know who was more excited about the idea, my boys or Amanda and Brian.

But of course , they couldn’t forget the pups! We actually found a few moments of “chillin” with the fur family members before they raced off into the fields of wide open spaces happy as can be.

This wonderful couple will be having their wedding at the historic Ryde Hotel in Walnut Grove next summer. We are already getting so excited for this event. If their engagement session is anything close to how much fun their wedding day will be, we will be spoiled again.

Thank you Amanda and Brian for allowing us to take part of your new adventures with each other and to be able to document your story as you plan your incredible wedding.

We would love to be challenged by anyone else to have their memories documented in a very unique fashion and at a favorite location. This includes families and senior portraits as well as engagement sessions. What are some destinations or memorable places you can think of for having your story told through pictures? We would love to hear from you.

Ahh, the crisp cool nights have arrived and that only means one thing… Autumn will soon be upon us. We are already seeing some signs of the leaves making their transformation to the brilliance of fall splendor. And if you have been to our studio grounds in late October and early November, you know exactly what we are talking about. Our goal was to create a mini Vermont on our grounds with all of our stunning trees and plants that change to vivid yellows, fiery reds and breathtaking oranges. All to let families feel like they are truly in another place and time.
This is the time to start thinking about your fall family portrait experience for the Holidays. Our calendar is starting to book up quickly for the targeted weeks of color. Don’t forget, this is the best time to have your perfect family picture taken for sending out your holiday greetings too.
With that in mind, we also would like to share with everyone they can enter to win a free family portrait session at the Payprus Store in Arden Fair Mall during the entire month of October for their Picture Perfect Campaign. Along with the portrait session, we will include a gift certificate for $100 towards the purchase of a framed wall portrait. Look for our information in the store window that will be on display beginning October 1st along with this image on our New Leather Signature Wrap.
We can’t wait to see everyone this beautiful Fall Season.

Absolutely Stunning! But did anyone expect anything less from our loveable Tracy?

As promised, we wanted to highlight a few favorite images from Tracy and Tim’s Spectacular Wedding at Arden Hills Country Club.

One of Tracy and Tim’s favorite selections for their dessert of the night were the amazing Cup Cakes by Carissa of Sugar and Spice. The presentation of the eight tiers was outstanding.

The Wedding Planner and “Right Hand Gal” to our fabulous couple was Kendra of Pfieffer Event Planning. One of Kendra’s perfect attention to details showed in the spectacular Candy Bar with every combination of flavours and “Eye Candy” you could imagine.

We are still working endlessly on the final edits for this amazing event, but how could we leave you without an image of the infamous Manolo Blahnik shoes that were notorious in the ever so popular “Sex and the City The Movie”.

Spoiled again! Another kick back session on our studio ranch location. We had so much fun with Amber, we almost forgot that she had to actually leave to go home.

Amber is another student of Placer High School’s upcoming graduates for 2010. She is a great person with a such a terrific sense of humor and spirit.

We really look forward to meeting more 2010 graduating seniors as they prepare for such an exciting year.

It’s that time of the year when weddings are in full season, families are getting their kids ready to go back to school, and studios, such as ours, are gearing up for the crazy fall season that leads to the holiday rush. But, now and then, we get to just play with our customers and enjoy the moment before us.

Happy Birthday to a precious One Year Old, Celeste! She gave a whole new meaning to “Sass”.

We can not wait for her return and to play with the rest of her family for Christmas photos in a couple of months.

Oh, did I mention there was CAKE?

Absolutely breathtaking! Alyssa and Austin chose to celebrate their wedding with family and friends at the incredible Citizen Hotel in downtown Sacramento.
The location, the staff, the details were perfect. Leave it to Harmony Lines, Catering Sales Manage, to have everything perfectly in place and not skip a beat.

Alyssa was stunning in her vintage style dress and veil and Austin looking very charming. I loved how our wonderful couple fit the charm and elegance of The Citizen. We had an incredible time shooting this wedding and working with everyone. Can’t wait to return. There are so many unique areas in the hotel to create one of a kind images and memories.
Brides and Grooms, check out the Citizen Hotel. You won’t be disappointed.
