Just One More, Please…?

You know how I love to tell stories about the great time and experiences we have with all of our customers.  Well, I thought I would share some bits of laughs and frustrations with our boys.  Yes, we have those moments too.  Believe it or not, we feel deflated after any attempt to get pictures of our own boys.  The worse part, they know all of our tricks.  They are usually helping us with family sessions to get the little ones to relax and laugh.  Having our kids around can be a great advantage and a reminder why it is so important to lock in these little moments whenever we can.

Then, to make matters worse, I go ahead and say…”hey, let’s add the dogs!”  Yes, I have some real moments of weakness.  I watch the boys play endlessly with the three girls of ours.  So, why should this attempt be any more trouble than usual?  Well, obviously, sitting still is very different from playing for all five of them.  Silly, Mom.

This shot is a favorite.  It reminded me of the tire swing moment when they were so still and peaceful.  Same feeling here, but I think they were just worn out from Mom and Dad trying to pose them over and over again.   They really didn’t want to look at us.

Oh, and the title… “Just One More, Please…?”  was being pleaded endlessly along with every emotion you can imagine.  I know you all have been there one time or another.

And then it happens.  Silence, except for the giggles and the clicking of the camera firing away, of course.  We just need ONE image, right?  Just one to prove they are happy, healthy and truly adorable little buggers.

But in the end, we did get a little more than we asked for.  The reminders of their personalities, quirks and just being boys.  The looks and their own style of communication with one another that only they understand.  And they know it.  People ask if they are twins all the time.  Well, they definitely have everyone thinking they are… but isn’t that what being brothers is really about?

Where is your favorite playground?

What do you consider a playground?  I have to admit that my boys are pretty spoiled with our “little” ranchette.  They even have a playground that includes at least 6 over sized truck and tractor tires for climbing around.  But when I think of using your true imagination while at play as a kid… well, meet Ricki Lynn and Jackson.  Their horse, Bonnie, was a true love and wait until you see the tractors they get to climb on.

Talk about the world is your playground.  How cool is it for these kiddos to meet up with their Dad while he was harvesting rice?

Many of you know we are definitely not strangers to the rice fields.  We love the endless opportunities to explore the light, the textures, and just the energy it always brings to a session.  Especially when little ones are involved.  We would have never been able to get our boys out of there.  Seriously.  I almost couldn’t get Barry out.  He and Jack were racing and even a little game of hide and go seek with Ricki Lynn.  Only because she could hide very easily.

And yes, Dad took a moment from work to meet up for a quick picture.  We had the kids all warmed up and ready to go.  This is a memory they won’t forget.

It’s Santa Paws Time Again

One week away!  Santa will be here to take pictures with you and your family.  And we mean fur family members too!

We can’t believe we are in our 5th year already supporting this incredible organization call AAARF.    The event this year is going to be bigger and better than ever including a bake sale, raffle, crafts and a variety of vendors supporting your pets and family.

Your family picture with Santa is $12 and includes a 5×7.  All proceeds go to AAARF to support their endless animal rescue efforts.  Their facility is amazing and the volunteers supporting this organization are even more incredible.  Every time we visit their facility, we are always blown away by how clean and inviting the surroundings are.   It is a true haven for these animals.

We have even added an additional hour since the support for this benefit continues to grow every year.  We look forward to seeing everyone next Sunday, November 14th from 10am to 3pm.

Families Helping Families

It’s Official!

Ford Family Photography and our amazing family of studio customers will be adopting two local families for the holidays.  All the official details are coming in as we speak.  But to start, here are some of the basic details for all of you “planners” that want to get a head start.

Family Blue (for two little boys, of course) have a 2-year-old boy and 1-year-old boy.  The primary request is for warm clothes and diapers.

Family Pink (girl power here) have a 5-year-old girl and a 1-year-old girl.  The primary request again is for warm clothes and diapers.

We will have tags for everyone to select specific items for toys, sizes, colors, etc.  Please feel free to contact us at the studio directly if you would like to start donating now.  Many of you will be coming through the studio for family sessions in the next couple of weeks and can select your tags then.  We will have tags for the Mom’s of the children as well.  We find that food gift cards are usually the necessity and most desirable.

Thank you for all the amazing support on this new adventure.  We have already been receiving so many calls and offers to help out these two families for the holidays.
